Voyageurs National Park is a large park near the Boundary Waters area on the Canadian border consisting of the islands and shorelines of several large lakes: Rainy, Kabetogama, Namakan and Crane. This is a unique park to visit, since a boat is required to get almost everywhere. The overwhelming majority of visitors are fisherman and very few points of interest are identified on park maps. This makes the park sort of an intimidating place to visit for those used to hiking and autotouring, However, the large lakes, narrow passages and scenic islands are very rewarding for those ambitious enough to get a boat and go exploring.
